With two new buildings completed, the multiphase relocation of the College of Engineering to Centennial Campus is well underway.

In fall 2005 the departments of Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering moved to Engineering Building II (EB II), a 110,000 square-foot building. Engineering Building I, which opened in fall 2004, houses the departments of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering.

The relocation of these four engineering departments to Centennial Campus has spawned temporary moves on the main and north campuses. The Department of Biomedical Engineering has moved into Burlington Laboratories, and the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, and the First-Year Programs occupy portions of Daniels Hall. Buildings vacated by Engineering, such as Leazar Hall, Withers Hall and Riddick Engineering Laboratories, will be made available to other colleges after renovations.

The construction and occupation of three more buildings will complete the relocation of engineering departments. EB III, which will house the departments of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, has received planning funding. EB IV has not been funded yet and is in the conceptual stage. When completed, it will house the Department of Industrial Engineering and the College administrative offices. The Department of Nuclear Engineering and the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering are scheduled to occupy EB V.
