The College of Engineering at North Carolina State University announced the Outstanding Senior Awards and installed new officers at the Engineers’ Council annual spring banquet held at the NC State University Club on April 28.
Dr. Nino A. Masnari, dean of the College of Engineering, presented awards in each of four categories: scholarly achievement, citizenship and service, humanities and leadership. In addition, Masnari led the installation of the 2005-06 executive board members of the Engineers’ Council.
The award for scholarly achievement went to two individuals, Lily Jeng, a biomedical engineering major, and Jeffery R. Millman, a chemical engineering major with a minor in Chinese studies. The award for citizenship and service was given to Brian Pridgen, a chemical engineering major. The humanities award was won by Nathaniel C. Horner, a computer science major, and the leadership award was given to Nicholas J. Jardine, a biomedical engineering major.
Following the awards ceremony, new officers were installed. The 2005-06 Engineers’ Council officers are Tyler Schweitzer, president; Carole Williams, vice president; Sara Welter, secretary; and Sindhu Chandramouleeswaian, treasurer.
