NC State’s Center for Embedded Systems Research Approved

On September 12, 2003, the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina system approved the establishment of the Center for Embedded Systems Research (CESR), which will provide a vehicle for researchers and students to use their expertise to explore various aspects of embedded systems function and application. Dr. Thomas M. Conte, professor of electrical and computer engineering, will serve as the center’s director. Participating faculty include Dr. Edward F. Gehringer, associate professor, and assistant professors Dr. Gregory T. Byrd, Dr. W. Rhett Davis, Dr. Alexander G. Dean, Dr. Xun Liu, Dr. Eric Rotenberg, Dr. Suleyman Sair and Dr. Yan Solihin, all of electrical and computer engineering.

CESR’s mission is “to develop advanced embedded systems technology that benefits the state of North Carolina, the nation and the member companies who contribute to support CESR.”
