Eric P. Pearson of Baltimore, Maryland, has donated $30,000 to the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University. Pearson’s gift will fund annual awards and establish the Johnnie L. Pearson Scholarship endowment in memory of his late father, Johnnie Leon Pearson (EE ’54), and in honor of his brother, Johnnie Leonard Pearson (ChE ’70, ’79). The endowment will benefit undergraduates who are U.S. citizens and majoring in electrical engineering or chemical and biomolecular engineering at NC State.
Dean Nino A. Masnari said of the gift, “This generous commitment by Mr. Pearson is an investment in tomorrow's engineers. The scholarship will allow some of the brightest young people to attend NC State and will strengthen the university's commitment to attracting top scholars.”
