Northrop Grumman Corporation has donated $42,000 to the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University for the sponsoring of senior design projects and scholarships for the departments of Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Representatives from Northrop Grumman, George Reynolds, director of Industry and University Initiatives, and Eric Pearson, manager of Engineering Staff Development, presented the gift to the college May 20.
Northrop Grumman, a global defense corporation, provides technologically advanced, innovative products, services and solutions in defense electronics, systems integration, information technology, advanced aircraft, shipbuilding and space technology. The corporation is the second largest recruiter of engineering students at NC State. In May 2002 Northrop Grumman donated $25,000 to the College.
Dean Nino A. Masnari said, "This commitment by Northrop Grumman Corporation is an investment in tomorrow’s engineers. By supporting Engineering, Northrop Grumman is supporting the educational activities of some of the brightest and most energetic young people of the state of North Carolina."
