The Fenwick Foundation of Raleigh has pledged $50,000 to the College of Engineering at NC State University. Half of the funds will establish the Phoenix Summer Outreach Scholarship Fund. Income from this endowment will provide support for economically disadvantaged elementary, middle or high school students enrolled in summer outreach programs sponsored by the college. The remaining half of the gift ($5,000 each year for five years) will provide for general support of the program.
“We are grateful for the Fenwick Foundation’s support,” said Dr. Nino A. Masnari, dean of the College of Engineering. “This gift will help create new opportunities for young people in our summer outreach programs and help prepare tomorrow’s engineers.”
The scholarship will be administered by the NC State Engineering Foundation, Inc.
