Alcoa Foundation has donated $27,500 to the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University. The gift will support the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Living and Learning Together program. The WISE Village, which opened in August 2003, gives first- and second-year women majoring in science or engineering at NC State an opportunity to live and study with others who share their common interests. It is a collaborative effort of University Housing, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Engineering, the College of Natural Resources, the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and the College of Textiles.
Dean Nino A. Masnari said, “We greatly appreciate Alcoa’s gift, which will help us recruit and retain women in engineering.”
Alcoa Foundation actively invests in improving the quality of life in communities where Alcoa operates. For more information about Alcoa Foundation, visit www.alcoa.com, under Community.
