Progress Energy Gives $261,500 to the College of Engineering

The Progress Energy Foundation recently awarded a grant of $261,500 to the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University.

The grant will support programs in civil engineering, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering and nuclear engineering. Funding has also been designated for the Progress Energy Endowed Scholarship Funds, the Benjamin Franklin Scholars program, unrestricted funds for the Dean’s office, outreach and summer programs for middle school students and teachers, diversity scholarships and engineering student organizations.

Dean Nino A. Masnari said, “We greatly appreciate the long history of financial support Progress Energy has shown the College of Engineering. This gift will greatly enhance current programs and support the educational activities of students in College.”
