Edward P. Fitts

Edward P. Fitts of Exton, Pa., chief executive officer of Dopaco, has given the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University an unrestricted gift of $250,000. The funds will be used for various needs in the college at the final determination of the Dean.

A Distinguished Engineering Alumnus, Fitts earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in 1961. He is an active supporter of the college and the Department of Industrial Engineering and currently serves on the NC State Engineering Foundation Board of Directors. In 1999 he endowed the Edward P. Fitts Scholarship, one of the largest scholarships in the industrial engineering department, and in 2002 he endowed the Edward P. Fitts Industrial Engineering Professorship at NC State.

“The College of Engineering greatly appreciates the long-time and substantial support of Ed Fitts,” said Dr. Nino A. Masnari, dean of the College of Engineering. “This generous unrestricted gift provides much needed resources that will enable us to further enhance the academic standing of the college.”

The funds will be administered by the NC State Engineering Foundation, Inc.
