Engineers’ Council Donates $25,000 to the College of Engineering at NC State

The Engineers’ Council, the student government body for the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University, has donated $25,000 in additional funds to the Engineers’ Council Endowment Fund.  With this gift, the endowment will now support three annual $500.00 scholarships in the college.

One of the scholarships is designed to encourage freshman representation in the council.  The engineering student who serves as the freshman representative will receive $500 in the year of his or her term.  The other two scholarships will go to two engineering students who wish to study abroad during their academic careers at NC State.

According to Tyler M. Schweitzer, a junior in nuclear engineering and chair of the Engineers’ Council, the purpose of the endowment is to help keep the council active and involved in student lives.

The scholarship will be administered by the NC State Engineering Foundation.
