Duke Energy Conference Room Dedication Ceremony Held August 12

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at North Carolina State University held a dedication ceremony of the Duke Energy-sponsored conference room renovation August 12.

Dr. Mohammad Noori, R.J. Reynolds Professor and Head of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, welcomed Duke Energy representatives E. O. Ferrell III (’66 EE), vice president of power delivery-northern region, and Jayne Vernon, assistant engineer. He also presented a plaque of appreciation to Ferrell on behalf of the department.

Dr. Nino A. Masnari, dean of the College of Engineering, thanked Duke Energy for their long history of support to the college and alumnus Ferrell for his special support. Ferrell is also a member of the NC State Engineering Foundation Board of Directors.

After Ferrell unveiled the plaque, Dr. Bill Roberts, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, recognized Duke Energy for funding the Duke Energy Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship Program in Energy, which last year supported four students.

A reception followed the ceremony.
