Worley “H” and Callie Anne Clark of Burr Ridge, Ill., have increased their Clark scholarship endowment with a gift of $100,000 to the College of Engineering. The Clarks also have elected to open the eligibility for the scholarship to include freshmen as well as upperclassmen who are majoring in engineering at North Carolina State University.
The Worley “H” and Callie Anne Clark Scholarship is designed to provide funding based on merit and need for engineering students. The new gift of $100,000 will be combined with the previously established Worley “H” and Callie Anne Clark Endowed Scholarship, providing more opportunities for student support.
A 1956 graduate of industrial engineering, Clark is the president of W.H. Clark Associates Ltd. of Chicago. He is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Nalco Chemical Company. Clark is a Caldwell Scholar supporter and a 1993 Distinguished Engineering Alumnus Award recipient.
“We greatly appreciate the support that the Clarks have shown the College of Engineering over the years,” said Dr. Nino A. Masnari, dean of the College of Engineering. “This generous commitment is an investment in tomorrow’s engineers.”
The endowment is part of the university’s current fund-raising campaign, Achieve! The Campaign for NC State, and will be administered by the NC State Engineering Foundation, Inc.
