Strenkowski Named Assistant Dean for Research

Dr. John S. Strenkowski has been named assistant dean for research in the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University effective July 1, 2001.  Strenkowski has served as interim assistant dean for research since December 1, 2000. 

Strenkowski, who is a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, joined the NC State faculty in 1978.  From 1995 to 1997 he served as associate department head of mechanical and aerospace engineering.  In 1998 he received the ASME Blackall Machine Tool and Gage Award.

Strenkowski received his B.S. in aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia in 1972, his M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from M.I.T. in 1973 and his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia in 1977.
