The College of Engineering at North Carolina State University announced the Senior Awards at the Engineers’ Council annual spring banquet held at the Velvet Cloak Inn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16.
One award – presented by Dr. Nino A. Masnari, Dean of the College of Engineering – was offered in each of four categories: scholarly achievement, citizenship and service, humanities and leadership. In addition, Dean Masnari lead the installation of the 2002-03 Executive Board members of the Engineers’ Council.
The awards for scholarly achievement were won by Meghan M. Wutkowski, double major in chemical engineering and textile chemistry, and Brian M. Taff, double major in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering and a minor in materials science and engineering. The award for citizenship and service was given to Kim D. Goodwin, double major in chemical engineering and Spanish literatures and languages. The humanities award went to Leif M. Johnson, a multiple major in computer science, applied mathematics and multidisciplinary studies. The leadership award was given to Michael T. Donaghy, a computer science major.
