Dr. Dmitriy Yurievich Anistratov, assistant professor of nuclear engineering at North Carolina State University, has been granted a Nuclear Engineering Education Research (NEER) award from the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy, Science and Technology for his project, “Nonlinear Projective-Iteration Methods for Solving Transport Problems on Regular and Unstructured Grids.” The NEER program sponsors nuclear research at U.S. colleges and universities.
Anistratov’s research interests include computational physics, numerical transport theory and numerical analysis. He joined the faculty in 2000. He received his master’s in physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1985 and his doctorate in mathematical and physical sciences from the Institute for Mathematical Modeling, Russian Academy of Sciences in 1993.
