Murty Sponsors Gold Medal and Scholarship

Dr. Korukonda Linga Murty, professor of nuclear engineering and materials engineering at North Carolina State University, has instituted two awards — the Lingamurty Gold Medal for Best Student in Metallurgy and the Subbaraju Memorial Scholarship for Best Upcoming Senior, Metallurgy — both for students at Andhra University, India.  The memorial scholarship is in memory of Murty’s late father, Kalaprapurna Dr. Korukonda Subbaraju.

The two awards were presented in a special presentation held by the Department of Metallurgy at Andhra University in India March 23.  M. S. Raghuveer was awarded the Gold Medal for Best Student in Metallurgy, and B. Naveenkumar was awarded the Subbaraju Memorial Scholarship for Best Upcoming Senior, Metallurgy.
