NC State Honors Legacies at Fifth Annual Legacy Luncheon

The NC State Alumni Association will sponsor the fifth annual Legacy Luncheon on Saturday, August 18, 2001, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum.  The invitation-only luncheon honors and welcomes the freshman and transfer children of NC State alumni. 

Activities at the luncheon will include remarks by Jennifer Hanes, director of clubs for the Alumni Association; Tom Cabaniss, president of the Alumni Association board of directors; Darryl Willie, NC State student body president; NC State Provost Stuart L. Cooper; and Chancellor Marye Anne Fox.  New this year is a planned “pinning” of the student by the parents using an NC State alumni legacy pin that features an image of the bell tower.

This year 545 students and their families have been invited to the luncheon, which will feature Wolfpack barbecue and ice cream from the NC State creamery.  Of this year’s attendees, 132 are College of Engineering students.
