Bitzer Named Associate by National Academies

Donald L. Bitzer, Distinguished University Research Professor of Computer Science at NC State, is one of seven local recipients — including Marye Anne Fox, chancellor of NC State — designated as a National Associate by the National Academies, a group comprising the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council.

The National Associates program was established to recognize the extraordinary contributions to the National Academies through pro bono service to National Research Council and Institute of Medicine programs.  Membership in the Associates is for life and recognizes past service and ongoing leadership.
