
Julian D. Willoughby
Julian D. Willoughby of Winston-Salem has been selected to receive an Ernest James and Ethel Hudgins Angelo Scholarship in the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University. Willoughby is the sixth recipient of the Angelo scholarship.
William E. Angelo and his brother, the late Dr. E. James Angelo Jr., established the scholarship in memory of their parents. Recipients must be from Forsyth County, demonstrate an interest in the environment and pursue an engineering degree that will give them the opportunity to work to protect the environment.
Willoughby, who is the son of Kenneth D. and Vickie Sue Willoughby of Winston-Salem, will graduate this spring from North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, where he is an honors graduate and a member of the National Honor Society, the National Science Honor Society (Psi Nu Sigma), the National Math Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta), the National Art Honor Society and the National Latin Honor Society. He enjoys weightlifting and working with computers and is an avid football fan. Willoughby is president of the science club at school and is an intern at Cybtrex, a computer company.
Angelo scholarships, valued at $10,000, provide full tuition, fees and room and board for one year and are renewable.
