Elmaghraby Named INFORMS Fellow

Dr. Elmaghraby

Dr. Salah E. Elmaghraby, University Professor of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at North Carolina State University, has been named Fellow of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).

INFORMS represents professionals in the fields of operations research and the management sciences and related fields such as information technology. The Fellow award recognizes members who have made significant contributions to the advancements in the related fields, as well as service to the professional field. Designation as a fellow is extremely limited, deeming this one of the highest honors in the operations research profession.

Elmaghraby has been on the faculty at NC State since 1967. His research interests include design and operation of production systems, project planning and scheduling, discrete optimization and dynamic programming. He received his doctorate in industrial engineering in 1958 from Cornell University.
