Charles L. Hunt, Gary D. Stelling and Tiffany Williams are the February Pride of the Wolfpack Award winners in the College of Engineering. The award is given to NC State employees to recognize their contributions of leadership, university community service and exceptional service to the college or unit.
Hunt, who is assistant director in Information Technology and Engineering Computer Services (ITECS), has helped to lead and expand the ITECS staff. During his six years in the department, he has carried out many functions, including hardware support and networking, budgeting and strategic planning. His recent disaster recovery plan drew the favorable attention of members of the NC State’s Information Technology Division, who asked him to assist other colleges in developing their plans.
Stelling, who is manager of technical support in the Department of Computer Science, is known for his dedication and hard work. His exceptional support of computers and classroom equipment won him the appreciation of faculty, staff and students. His attentiveness during the recent construction of the new Ventures III laboratory, the Laboratory for Collaborative System Development, allowed for timely intervention when construction problems occurred.
Williams is the receptionist in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Her patience in carrying out the many duties of her position as receptionist in one of the busiest offices on campus won her the respect of department personnel. She is noted for her willingness to take on additional tasks. During recent months, the department has not had a bookkeeper, and Williams has taken on those additional tasks as well.
Each awardee receives a $20 gift card and an overnight bag.
