Hammoudi, Jimison Receive Faculty Senior Scholarship Awards

Dr. Nino A. Masnari, dean of the College of Engineering, presents the College of Engineering Faculty Senior Scholarship Award for 2004-05 to Leslie Jimison, a senior in materials science and engineering.

 

Dr. Russell King, professor of industrial engineering, and Dean Masnari present the Faculty Senior Scholarship Award to Taymour Hammoudi, a senior in biomedical engineering.


The College of Engineering at North Carolina State University announced the Faculty Senior Scholarship Awards for 2004-05. Dr. Nino A. Masnari, dean of the College of Engineering, presented awards to biomedical engineering major Taymour Hammoudi and materials science and engineering major Leslie Jimison.

Hammoudi has spent the past two summers engaged in HIV research for Duke University and GlaxoSmithKline while maintaining a 4.0 at NC State. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, Golden Key and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. He has won Dean’s Merit and Baxter-Allegiance scholarships and is a Caldwell Fellow. Hammoudi plans to pursue a career in biomedical engineering where he can contribute to the field through research in biomaterials, tissue engineering and drug delivery.

Jimison currently holding a 4.0 in materials science and engineering and is a member of the university’s cross country and track teams. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She has received Robert Byrd, Charles Manning and Ameristeel scholarships and is a Caldwell Fellow. She also has been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and a student speaker for the College of Engineering. After graduation, Jimison plans to pursue a doctorate in the study of polymers or electronics.
