Documentation Mobile CARE Partnerships (MCPs) Local government and business fleet managers, fuel and technology providers, environmental groups, non-profit organizations, and concerned individuals participating in quarterly working group meetings to address mobile emission reduction efforts through the use of alternative fuel and advanced transportation technologies. In order to support regional economic development opportunities, diversify fuel supplies and create a healthier environment, transportation solutions must be addressed at a local and regional level. Organized by the NC Solar Center at NC State University, these partnerships will provide a forum to share ideas, develop a plan, network, and investigate issues and opportunities to expand clean transportation technologies. NC Alt Fuels Group The Alternative Fuels Group is an opportunity to share news, ask questions and generally move forward information to accelerate the use and production of alternative fuels in North Carolina. The NC calls typically feature guest speakers and are held quarterly. To receive meeting announcements, send an email to cleantransportation@ncsu.edu. The NC group is affiliated with the Southeast Alternative Fuels Task Force, a volunteer group of Southeastern states interested in communicating and coordinating alternative fuel related activities. NC Alternative Fuels Consortium The NC Alternative Fuels Consortium meets quarterly to discuss and expand the use of alternative fuels in the state fleet. The meetings are sponsored and hosted by the State Energy Office and supported by the NC Solar Center and the Clean Cities Coalitions with all state agencies encouraged to participate. Regular discussion topics include the State's 20% Petroleum Displacement Plan and EPAct requirements including the banking and selling of excess AFV credits. The Southeast Diesel Collaborative is a voluntary, public-private partnership involving leaders from federal, state and local government, the private sector and other stakeholders in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The Southeast Diesel Collaborative is part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s National Clean Diesel Campaign. The goal of the Southeast Diesel Collaborative is to improve air quality and public health by encouraging the use of clean, renewable energy and technology and by reducing diesel emissions from existing engines and equipment from the agriculture, heavy construction and on-road sectors. |
