May 27: Electrifying Transportation: RTEC presented information on current and future EV's at McKimmon Center in Raleigh -

The Electrifying Transportation conference, sponsored by the Research Triangle Energy Consortium and organized by the North Carolina Solar Center, was held on May 27th, 2009 at the NCSU McKimmon Center in Raleigh, NC. The symposium brought together experts from all fields that contribute to the issue of electric-powered transportation, with an focus on passenger vehicles. Speakers and attendees discussed the steps needed to electrify the vehicle fleet in the most sustainable fashion. Topics included: necessary research and advancements in vehicles, associated batteries and power storage, the Smart Grid, consumer choice of green alternatives, and required policies to facilitate changes to an electric fleet.
