Who developed this map?
The map was developed by the College of Engineering's IT team, a division better known around campus as ITECS.
How long has the map existed?
The first iteration of the map was born in the Spring of 2009 and was an attempt to integrate the campus directory (powered by LDAP) with the Google Maps API. The first version of the project used the Google Maps API v2, it has since seen many improvements and optimizations.
Where is the data coming from?
Well most of the 'map' data comes directly from Google, so if you see something that needs changing, you can change it yourself using their Map Maker. The people data comes directly out of our NC State University directory. If the map isn't able to locate you, or your information seems incorrect, you can update your directory information here, and then wait 24 hours for the changes to take effect.
