An engineering scholarship for student-athletes
Student-athletes majoring in engineering can take advantage of a $100,000 scholarship endowment established by NC State engineering alumnus Robert Lee Brooks.
Students who play on either the varsity football team or the men’s or women’s basketball teams will receive first preference for the Robert Lee Brooks Scholarship. Second preference will go to students participating in any other NC State intercollegiate sport.
Brooks, who graduated from NC State in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering operations, is executive vice president at LS Power Development, LLC, a privately held company with offices in several states that develops, acquires and manages power generation and transmission infrastructure throughout the US. He previously held various engineering and management positions of increasing responsibility in the operations, project management, sales and marketing functions within the power generation business unit of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Brooks’ brother and daughter are also graduates of the College. Brooks previously endowed two football scholarships through the Wolfpack Club.
