Overview: RAMP-UP is a grant-funded program intended to increase the number and diversity of local students in grades 3-12 who enroll and succeed in higher level math courses, specifically algebra in 8th or 9th grade and calculus in 12th. The program is a partnership between the NCSU Colleges of Education and Engineering, the math department at Shaw University and the Wake County Public School System. Fellows will work throughout the academic year with a teacher team to plan and implement inquiry based mathematics lessons that demonstrate the practical application of the math theory they are learning. RAMP-UP fellows are role models and the program is a great opportunity to make a significant difference to many K-12 students. THIS PROGRAM IS OPEN TO APPLICANTS ENROLLED IN AN ENGINEERING, MATH, SCIENCE OR MATH/SCIENCE EDUCATION PROGRAM. Employment Expectations:
