The prerequisites for the online degree programs are the same as for the on-campus programs and include an accredited bachelor's degree in science or engineering and an overall grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) on all previous undergraduate and graduate work. The online degree programs include the following:
- Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering
- Master of Science in Chemical Engineering
- Master of Civil Engineering
- Master of Science in Computer Engineering
- Master of Computer Science
- Master of Engineering
- Master of Electrical Engineering
- Master of Science in Materials Engineering
- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Master of Nuclear Engineering
Requirements:
Requirements for the online courses include a high-speed Internet connection and appropriate computer hardware needed to view the streamed media lectures. Videos of live classroom presentations are available online approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the on-campus class. Course materials and homework assignments are also available online. All exams must be proctored, and instructors may be contacted via email, telephone or through special course discussion boards. The homework assignments and course requirements are the same as for the on-campus students ensuring that distance students receive the same quality of instruction as the on-campus students.
The degree requirements are the same as those for the on-campus programs; however, you do not have to be admitted to a degree program to enroll in your first online course. Up to 12 hours may be taken as a non-degree student (post-baccalaureate student) and counted toward the degree. Each degree requires the completion of 30 hours of course work and an overall grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale). There are no residency requirements and individuals have six years to complete a degree program.
