- The NC State College of Engineering is the largest college at NC State, home to more than 7,000 students.
- NC State Engineering is one of the largest Colleges of
Engineering in the nation. We are a top producer of a diverse group of dynamic engineering talent. The 2005 report of the Engineering Workforce Commission ranked NC State:
- 3rd in the nation in number of BS degrees awarded
- 6th in total number of degrees awarded
- 4th in number of BS degrees awarded to women
- 5th in total number of degrees awarded to African Americans
- 3rd in number of BS degrees awarded to African Americans
- NC State Engineering students represent the best and the brightest. More than half of incoming freshmen graduated in the top 10 percent of their class.

- The College boasts 247 tenured or tenure-track faculty members, 11 of whom are members of the prestigious National Academy of Engineering. The faculty includes 77 recipients of Presidential and National Science Foundation recognition awards for achievement, including 52 NSF Career Awards.
- Our curriculum encourages a team-oriented, hands-on approach to problem solving. NC State Engineering students work together to complete capstone senior design projects that go beyond theory to yield a working product.

- NC State Engineering offers more than 170 distance education courses each year. We provide the number one Best Buy for its Online Master of Engineering and Master of Civil Engineering degrees.
- The College contributes to and benefits from its environment. We are the flagship College of Engineering in the state of North Carolina, and are the key source of the workforce of Research Triangle Park, NC, which has been named the nation's number one hot spot for high technology.
- The nation’s competitiveness and North Carolina’s
economic development depend on opening pathways for future engineers. We do our part to ensure the future of engineering by annually engaging more than 5,000 students and 500 teachers in K-12 outreach programs.
- The vital support of our alumni, friends and corporate partners has resulted in more than $3.3 million in scholarships and fellowships awarded to our undergraduate and graduate students annually.

- Our future is hitched to Centennial Campus, a national model for seeding technological innovation through the convergence of university research, industry and government all within state-of-the-art facilities. Centennial’s “Engineering Oval” is 40% completed, and state funding has just been approved for the third of the five buildings that will house the College.
