- NC State Engineering alumnus Edward P. Fitts gave $10 million to endow the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, making it the university’s first endowed academic department.. Fitts targeted his giving to help the department achieve a top-5 ranking nationally.
