Faculty is the single element that connects students, education, research and industry. And indispensable to them is the support of a knowledgeable and committed staff. So NC State Engineering is pleased to have 910 exceptional faculty and staff members within our college, 249 of which are tenured and tenure-track faculty members.

The breadth of our faculty’s research is extensive, ranging from advanced computing to biotechnology, semiconductors to ergonomics, nanotechnology to energy. Their diverse and impressive innovations and accomplishments have earned them much acclaim. Eleven are members of the National Academy of Engineering, and 77 have received Presidential and National Science Foundation (NSF) recognitions for achievement, including 54 NSF Career Awards. One has received the prestigious National Medal of Technology for the discovery and development of amorphous magnetic materials. Another has received an Emmy for his efforts in advancing television technology.

Our hard-working research, administrative and office staff members are committed to excellence, and many have received college and university excellence awards for their ingenuity and determination.

We’re proud to know and work with our faculty and staff, whose achievements mark their dedication to NC State, its research, students and future.
