NC State Computer Science Grad and co-founder of memberHub.com, Matt Harrell, to speak tonight at 6PM in Engineering Building 2, Room 1025.

MemberHub Story:

Founded in 2007 by Loren and Matt Harrell, a father-and-son team based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Loren Harrell founded SoftPro in the late 1980s. SoftPro is the leading provider of Real Estate Closing and Title Insurance software. Under Loren’s direction SoftPro grew from an idea to a company serving more than 11,000 customers with over 60,000 users. The company was sold in 2001 soon after he decided to dedicate his time to developing MemberHub with his son Matt. Prior to his experience with Softpro, Loren also developed custom membership management software for numerous associations and religious organizations. Drawing from these experiences, Loren envisioned a membership management system for the modern internet age.

At the same time, Matt became keenly aware that many organizations were operating without a viable communications tool to keep all the members connected. He recognized that the various groups that make up organizations were all using different online tools for group communication and collaboration. It became clear that administrators want to be connected to their members and provide a sense of community for the various groups in their organization. Matt knew a solution that consolidated everything into one place would inevitably solve organization pain points and communication breakdowns.

After two years of brainstorming Matt and Loren came together in October 2007 to create a Collaborative Membership Management solution. Since that time they have assembled a team of all-star software designers and developers.

At MemberHub a major reason we're doing this is that we're passionate about making great software: software that's easy to use, that looks good and serves a purpose. We want people to feel that when they use MemberHub. We also want them to feel like part of the team. We welcome calls anytime from our users.

Matt feels blessed for the very talented team of people that have contributed to the MemberHub solution. He feels abundantly blessed for his wife and daughter and to be able to work along his father’s side on MemberHub. Matt currently serves as President of MemberHub after spending seven years as a software developer in Raleigh. He earned his B.A. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University in 2000.
