SMiRT junior Award

Authors who have recently completed their masters or doctoral degrees are invited to submit abstracts based entirely on the research they have completed on or after June 30, 1998 (two years before the due date of abstracts for SMiRT 16). If a paper has coauthors, the candidate should be first author and the research supervisor (usually a member of the degree awarding institution's faculty) should write a letter acknowledging that the candidate made the most important intellectual contribution to the research that is reported in the paper under consideration. The winners will be announced at the opening ceremonies of SMiRT 16. The award is comprised of a medal or plaque of around $100 in value. 

The candidates should clearly indicate that they wish to be considered for a Junior Award with the submission of their paper with appropriate documentation indicating the date of their degree. A short curriculum vita should also accompany the manuscript.
